God's Promises

A month ago we looked out our back window to see the most beautiful double rainbow. I wrapped Jules in a towel, swooped her out of the tub, and ran her out back to get a look. Both girls stood fascinated! Fantastic.

*PSA...during the next week I will be backblogging all the things I've missed during the last month (or so). The events to follow may or not be in chronological order and are also not listed in order of importance. Thanks, Management

My Guy, the Mud Ducks & the Marine Corps Mud Challenge

The crew at the end of the race in 62 minutes!

The start.

The mud pit and mud mountain.

Fancy Footwork

Jules' opinion on the mudslide.

Out the shoot and now into the woods for 4.5 miles of obstacles.

Meanwhile, we relaxed, ate, and amused ourselves along the course for an hour. : )

Sweet, stinky, sloppy success. : )

And finally, a fireman's hose shower.

Tiff, our proven Mud Challenge Warrior Queen!

One more shot of the team! Awesome race you four! I am all over this race next year!

Grandma and Grandpa Visit

A little putt-putt

Sweet Ava

The girls' first roller coaster ride.

We had a nice visit with Chad's parents in April. We relaxed, played a little golf, went for some walks, and grilled some good food. Thanks for making the trip out Grandma and Grandpa!

Tub Time

Guess what we bought? The girls are getting psyched for swim season!

Ice Skating Party

Jules and one of her school friends. These metals thingys are called "ice walkers." Jules used it most of the time and went solo a bit, too. : )

Pre-ice lesson

Wow. It's been a long time since I've been on ice skates. : )

We went to a super fun birthday party a couple weeks ago at the local ice skating rink. Julianna LOVED it. We were the last ones to leave the party. (The birthday boys had already left, too!) Everyday she asks, "Do you think we can go ice skating this week? How about lessons?" Awesome.

Soccer Girls

Jules Marie, 5.3

Ava Grace, 3.3

Workin' those pigtails.

Kickin' it with Stella!

Silly G

Ava loves it when Chad can come to practice and play with her!

Friends and Teammates.

Long strides. Wonder where she gets that? ; )

My sweets.

Skittles!

Cool dudes.

I think this is Ava's favorite part of the game. Chillin' and eating snacks. : )

We are winding down another great soccer season. And once again, I am so happy to see the joy our girls get out of sports and working with their peers as a team. I am not one to regularly keep track of the score or wins logged in a book. What I do keep track of is how both girls have grown in personal confidence and skill. Right now, I am holding on to these years when it's simply a joy to run out on a field, laugh with your teammates, and drink a cold Capri-Sun.

Last week, I had friends over for tea.

It was a small gathering of close friends.

We all minded our manners.

No elbows in the tea cups or crumbs on our fine clothes.

After a light snack, we feasted on some of our favorite books.

It was divine. : )
